I recently started a referral contest and nothing much went on...then in the last 24 hours one member has referred 4 new members and counting...all with similiar type names....Rahim...Abdul...Galoob...etc.
The sigs used in all the profile areas look like they refer to the same person...BUT, I don't want to jump the gun..how can I tell if these signups are being generated by one person....one IP appears to be the same as the person who is referring, but the others are not.
Email addresses are from hotmail, gmail,yahoo.....
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Well maybe he did make another account, and then maybe used the IP Hacker thing to change the others.
Another question is do the others post?
If they do and you notice that every post has a totally different IP then he must be using the IP Hack thingy.

What's this IP hack?
If they don't post, and post pretty close to eachother (say their ID's are 1, 2, 3, 4, they shouldnt be posting like 1, 1, 3, 4, 4, 4, 2, 2, it should be more mixed like 1, 3, 1, 2, 4, 2, 4, 1, 3, etc) I'd say its very possible they are from the one user (Unless he's using multiple browsers).
Otherwise, there's no real way to tell...Maybe PM them all and try to talk to them and see if they have similar personalities ;).
