I just joined up here a few minutes ago and I was wondering? I downloaded all of the required software, and then some. And now I would like to know, how I am suppose to get my forum up and running on the web? Is their something that I do to upload the software n' such or what?

Firstly, the support here is provided by volunteers, so it is probably worth remembering that 'bumping' a post less than 24 hours old is frowned upon.
Installing and running an SMF forum requires a certain level of knowledge regarding general internet usage and the topology of such.
I would suggest spending more than a couple of minutes reading here at simplemachines.
