I took our board live today. I wish to extend a 'thank you' to the support folks who were very instrumental in getting us up and running in a timely manner.
The conversion from our previous board to SMF went pretty well. I am still tweaking things and writting some UI stuff to make it easier for non-tech types to do some things, but overall, we are pleased.
Just wanted to say thanks.

I'm glad you like SMF! I hope you enjoy your time here and enjoy your new SMF board. :D
Like any piece of software, you always hope for that magic feature that is missing, but the foundation feels pretty good so far and that is the important part.

Yeah the best part of SMF is it does not overload it with the features. If there is a feature missing there is most likely a mod for it too. :) SMF is very customizable.
Oh, I have added some mods already. Little things like users being about to set the post count per page or being able to have the option to view images as links, instead of pics.
I did discover that it likes to add default entries into the board_permissions table whenever you create a new membergroup. I wrote a little php script to clean that out as my board has hundreds of membergroups and about a hundred forums. That table got huge fast. LOL!
It is all good though. Never met a bulletin board that did not need something specific to its environment done to it.
