Title: mybb to smf language error (Solved)
Post by: decas on March 15, 2008, 05:31:13 PM
hi people!

i converted my  mybb forum to smf and everything went fine except of the posts in Greek language.

they appear as "????" and "smiles" both in forum and the new database , even though that both forums are utf8

any recommendations on how to fix this?
thanks in advance

(a friend of mine fixed it)

You might want to share, for that that search how you solved your issue?

/index.php?action=convertutf8
You should run the Convert HTML-entities to UTF-8 characters maintenance routine first.

hi and sorry for late response!
it is solved by converting directly from phpbb3 to SMF. i just wanted to avoid modifing the php file as described in another post, this is why i went on the mybb first!

by the way, after swiching to SMF i dont want to return back. :)
the only option i miss from phpbb is the restoration of database through the AP

www.hispage.com/smffolder /index.php?action=convertutf8

and everything went well!
