Compatibility
For SMF 1.1.x and SMF 2.0 Beta 3 Public

Introduction
Integrates Slimbox (http://www.digitalia.be/software/slimbox/) into SMF.
Slimbox is a 7kb visual clone of the popular Lightbox JS v2.0 by Lokesh Dhakar, written using the ultra compact mootools (http://www.mootools.net/) framework. It was designed to be small, efficient, more convenient and 100% compatible with the original Lightbox v2.

Features
o Integrates Slimbox to work with
- Attachments
- Non-Linked Images
- Text-based Links to images
o Prevents Slimbox from affecting images linked to page/urls
o Fixes Imageshack.us & Photobucket links to work with Slimbox

Installation
Simply install the package to install on the SMF Default Core Theme ONLY.
All other themes will require manual edits for index.template.php and display.template.php

Note, due to differences in themes, you may have to slightly modify the 'default' edits to work on other themes. (eg if you get template parse error, check whether there is an extra unneeded php echo ' at the beginning of the edit or '; at the end.

SgtMic,

I just took over this mod from karlbenson and I'm currently working on the next release.  The next release will include SMF 2.0 Beta 3 Public support. I do believe the mod currently supports Beta 2.1 but I do not have a copy of Beta 2.1 to test with. I hope to have the next release out within a few days. :)

Ok, I installed the mod, and it works great on hotlinked images.

But not attached images.

What can I do to have it work with them? (ver 1.1.4 )

You shouldn't have to do anything to get the images to display in the lightbox/slimbox. Image attachments that have a thumbnail, urls to images and images that use the IMG bbcode should all display in a lightbox/slimbox.

I know you said it was a fresh install but, was you using the default template? If so is there anyway I could access this install and see the page source? (You can post or PM me the url)

In Opera browser it looks foggy, just like a white 20% transparency layer is overlayed over the image.

Had a huge problem with this mod and IE7. Users were not able to access the boards. They could navigate through the maintab links just fine. Just not the boards. The issue is created in the index.template.php. I was able to narrow it down to just that file. Once I uninstalled lightbox, IE7 works just fine.
I use Firefox and had no problems at all.

It actually occurred on 2 of my sites so I know it wasn't a fluke.

Any ideas on a fix?

Quake101, thanks for taking up this mod.

I'm wondering if you've seen this comment regarding Gallery Lite (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=209319.msg1503920#msg1503920)?

Any thoughts on how to integrate it, or add a link, so that users can see the image details or add comments?

Thanks.

estepp,

I haven't messed with the "Gallery Lite" mod but I'm sure you can integrate Lightbox into it. I might be able to recommend some changes if you send me a URL. Once I have an idea how to add it I may need you to attache one of your files so I can show you where to edit. I can't promise anything but I can at least give it a shot.

It looks like you can integrate it. That's why I included the forum topic link, which describes the work-around and the subsequent problem with it. It's from the original Lightbox thread.

The problem people are having is that the lightbox doesn't allow people to make comments - or see the specific file attributes that Gallery Lite lists. Either a link to view the image without lightbox, or a way to have the lightbox show the specs would be the solution.

What URL would you be interested in? My forum site is http://forum.projectlucidity.com (I do not have the Lightbox/Gallery workaround loaded, though).

Thanks for any help you could provide.

estepp,

Unfortunately the lightbox mod would not be easily integrated into the Gallery Lite with out a editing the Gallery Lite mod. You really have 2 options to make this happen.

1) Use a lightbox javascript that allows html/iframe and load the current full size picture page in the lightbox.

2) Use this mod and edit the Gallery Lite mod to to display 2 links. 1 link for the full sized image only and the 2nd link to the comments page.

The 2nd option would take less work but may be confusing to users. There might be other ways of doing this but may require even more editing of the Gallery Lite mod. I hope this information is helpful. :)

Thanks for the options and ideas. I'm thinking #2 would be best, just because I don't want too many scripts.  And, tweaking PHP is much preferable to me than working with JS.

this is a great mod I hope that the bug will be fixed soon.

I couldn't get the image roll  over to work when having an image set / several attachments in a posting. Or is there no lside show like image roll over in this mod? I had noticed that the mod contains several arrow images for this purpose.

Thank you

I am using Black45 Theme and when using the parser it indicates the changes in the template.php (No Problem to add) and the Disply.php - unfortuantly - the Black45 theme does'nt have a display.template.php.

Suggestions?

For the lightbox, can you think of apply the effect to SNF Gallery? Should that work, I will consider to install the mod to my SMF.

I would think that having the slideshow option would be a standard option with the mod, because what's the difference in having this mod without the ability to be able to view multiple images; it's inefficient to have to open one imager and then close lightbox just to open the next image in line, especially if the images were originally posted with the [img][/img] tags to begin with.

I would very much like to know how to make the slideshow work as well as hide the images the user posts so that when light box opens it will then show the slide show.

in my opinion, this mod would take the posted images and convert them into one small thumbnail (scaled propotionally with a max of 100x100 pixels) that will cycle through all the posted images thumbnails but in the same thumbnail image (only one image that changes like an animated .gif). Then when the user clicks on the thumbnail, it will open up lightbox in slidshow mode to allow the veiwing of the posted images.

This should enable lightbox with slide show. Keep in mind after you edit these files you will be unable to uninstall the mod though the package manager unless you remove these edits before you try to uninstall. I personally would make backups. ;)

I hope to have this built into the next version and some extra admin options (enable/disable, slide show/no slide show). :)

Where are the instructions on how to use this mod?

I downloaded it, installed the package.

What next?

I don't see anything changed in my Admin CP. There's nothing in the user's interface that enables posting of images. Where do i store the images?

I'm guessing I need to install lightbox, but I find no help at all in the package or here.

Sorry to be so dumb, but I'm sure I'm not alone on this.

Title: Re: Integrate Lightbox

Assume, make an ass of you and me? That version? :)

No assumptions implied. The mod isn't built with any options at this point other than installing it.
Once you install it, that's all there is to it. Just click on a picture and let it do it's magic.

I have the mod installed. Here's the screen that leaves me on.

Well, I guess that gets me past the first assumption.

The general lack of information or instructions on what this thing supposedly does suggests that it's one of those things that are dangerous to know. Coward that I am, I'll shut up. Forget I asked. Please.

It's always better to ask if you don't know or understand something.

I agree, but cryptic responses are of little or no value.

I wonder, what is the point of publishing a mod that does not explain what it does and how to use it? I asked for that information and I'm getting responses that assume I already know.

I hope to have this built into the next version and some extra admin options (enable/disable, slide show/no slide show). :)

For a followup, I tried this with my local host and it appears to be working perfectly.

Another question, "Is this mod self-contained? As in everything it uses is specific to itself and doesn't rely on any other part of SMF to opperate?" I wonder because I have a heavily modded forum (35ish +) and I would like to know what I'm getting into before I add this to the long lists of mods.

It seems that an error is generated by Integrate Lightbox, but I am not sure why. I am using 1.1.5 version software. What do I need to do to "fix" the error?

I've enabled slideshow on vers. 1.4, based on Lightbox. Just one question, what's the syntax to post multiple images on forum?
I know the normal BB code as
[ULR=www...image.jpg][IMG]www...image.jpg[/IMG][/URL]

but what's the synatx for multiple images? Thank you.

The mod does not conflict with smf-gallery mod but does not add lightbox to smf-gallery as it would require modifying smf-gallery files. Please read page 2 of this thread for more details.

To post any type of image, first of all you don't need the [url=www...image.jpg][/url] tags on there, unless you want the reader to be able to click that image and be directed to a site in another window or tab (if the reader holds Crtl when he/she clicks the image in IE7). All that is needed to post an image is the [img][/img] tags.

so to post multiple images, use the following code structure:
[img]http://www...image.jpg[/img]
[img]http://www...image.jpg[/img]
[img]http://www...image.jpg[/img]
[img]http://www...image.jpg[/img]

On to the real reason I posted,

What would be the process of allowing lightbox to recognize when a url is posted of an image to an unsupported site?

I ask this because I would like to have Lightbox recognize when a member posts a url link to a screenshot they took while ingame with xfire. Xfire uses the following format for images that are uploaded to their servers:

http://screenshot.xfire.com/screenshot/natural/imagename.png

so an example would be:
http://screenshot.xfire.com/screenshot/natural/14ef99d2fa97d889c63166d9d35eff5cde1aecc4.png

What edits need to be done so the users can make anysite work with this mod?

Thanks for reply, but I was talking about other aspect. Just like I've said
[URL=big_image][img]small_image[/img][/URL]
as a small image (thumbnail) to be displayed and the large image to be displayed when user clicked the thumbnail. This is perfect possible using this syntax, but what I am looking for is the thumbnail to refer to multiple large images.
Per instance, on Lightbox homepage, click on Image Set thumbnail and will display a gallery of all 4images:
http://www.lokeshdhakar.com/projects/lightbox2/

Thank you.

then make it like the following format:

[img height=### width=###]http://www...image.jpg[/img]
[img height=### width=###]http://www...image.jpg[/img]
[img height=### width=###]http://www...image.jpg[/img]
[img height=### width=###]http://www...image.jpg[/img]

where the ### symbols are the size you want your thumbnail to be in pixels

Title: Re: Integrate Shadowbox
Post by: littlefish on May 23, 2008, 03:40:11 PM
I've got a question that's probably a bit off-topic and off-thread ... but have spent a lot of time searching the forum in advance.

Was trying to implement in SMF ... another Lightbox clone, other than Slimbox, namely Shadowbox examples (http://mjijackson.com/shadowbox/index.html) ... which has implications of perhaps combining functions of Auto Embed Video Clips mod (including customizable mixed media playlists). I've modified index.template.php as in "Integrate Lightbox"

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/css/print.css?b21" media="print" />';

// Include the Shadowbox Scripts (except for the stats page) if($context['current_action'] != 'stats')echo '
  <!-- Integrate Shadowbox Mod: Start -->
  <!-- MooTools Includes -->
  <script type="text/javascript" src="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/mootools-release-1.11.js"></script>

<!-- Shadowbox Includes -->
   <script type="text/javascript" src="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/shadowbox-mootools.js"></script>
  <script type="text/javascript" src="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/shadowbox.js"></script>
  <link rel="stylesheet" href="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/shadowbox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />
<!-- Integrate Shadowbox Mod: End -->';

yet I can't figure where or how to put the following code in SMF

<script type="text/javascript">
mootools.util.Event.onDOMReady(Shadowbox.init);
</script>

or

<script type="text/javascript">
window.onload = Shadowbox.init;
</script>

from Shadowbox (http://mjijackson.com/shadowbox/doc/usage.html)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
LittleFish

Template Parse Error!
There was a problem loading the /Themes/ApolloBB-TP/index.template.php template or language file. Please check the syntax and try again - remember, single quotes (') often have to be escaped with a slash (\). To see more specific error information from PHP, try accessing the file directly.

You may want to try to refresh this page or use the default theme.

I'm having some issues. For example, in this (http://www.docspt.com/index.php?topic=4157.0) page it opens the images, including the link to IMDB (which wasn't supposed to open). And here (http://www.docspt.com/index.php?topic=3900.0), it opens none  ::)

First Page: It opens the links because of the img tags used. (by design)

Second Page: I believe the mod is not picking up the imageshack images (I'll look into this)

I like it!

I notice large pics get cut off on the left side. You can't scroll it all the way over to see all the of the pic. If the pic is bigger than the browser window.

Any way to fix this?

Just tried to install the mod on SMF2 beta3.1, got the message:

Installations actions for "Integrate Lightbox":
The package you are trying to download or install is either corrupt or not compatible with this version of SMF.

Will you update the version list?

Thank you very much.

Correct, but the images are not hosted from the same server. I may add a feature to the mod so users can add lightbox to any image by using bbcode. Ex: [lightbox][/lightbox] As the mod currently can not detect all images.

Hello, if i install the new version manually on my board, the lightbox is not functioning with every image on my site. For example tumbnails from photobucket have no rel="lightbox" tag. But many other images (not imageshack or photobucket) have rel tag. With version 1.5 is everything allright without the 8: Undefined index: host issue.

I replaced the old code from subs.php with the new code.

when i try to apply this mod i receive this error:    .\Themes\default/index.template.php

I have uploaded the lightbox files into my main dir. im not sure what exactly i need to do to get this to work even on just the core theme.

If you guys are the wrong ones to ask could you maybe point me in the right direction?

Hello! I'm really having a time attempting to get this to work. I have installed similar lightbox mods on my phpbb2 and vBulletin boards but this one has me stumped.

I have made several attempts to manually edit the theme Helios Multi but no matter what, I keep getting the Template Parse Error. I have attached the index.template.php, display.template.php and a test file with the entire error message. The board is version 1.1.5 with just a few mods installed. Helios Multi is the default template.

Can someone please take a look and show me the correct edits so I can get this to work properly?

Thanks!

You should install mods using the Package Manager inside of SMF.
As with most mods, they only install to the core default theme.
In that file with the error, you will need to add in the code manually.
You may another mod installed that is conflicting with the auto installer.

How are we coming with the update for beta 3.1?

For those who wish to enable lightbox with slide show.

Sources/Subs.php
Find:

$b[1] = str_replace($b[2], $b[2].'" rel="lightbox', $b[1]);

Replace:

$b[1] = str_replace($b[2], $b[2].'" rel="lightbox[smf]', $b[1]);

Themes/default/Display.template.php (remember to edit your theme if your not using the default theme)
Find:

<a href="', $attachment['href'], ';image" id="link_', $attachment['id'], '" rel="lightbox"><img src="', $attachment['thumbnail']['href'], '" alt="" id="thumb_', $attachment['id'], '" border="0" /></a><br />

Replace:

<a href="', $attachment['href'], ';image" id="link_', $attachment['id'], '" rel="lightbox[smf]"><img src="', $attachment['thumbnail']['href'], '" alt="" id="thumb_', $attachment['id'], '" border="0" /></a><br />

These mods appear to be already done in v1.6, but the slideshow function still doesn't work for me.... Has anyone got this to work?

Also, is it possible to have the image displayed in a new window, rather than in the current window as it does by default?

Regards
Eddy

Hello there,

I made an edit to my index template.
I modified and replace the files to be added to this:
echo '<script type="text/javascript" src="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/mootools1.11.js"></script>; <script type="text/javascript" src="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/slimbox.js"></script>  <link rel="stylesheet" href="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/slimbox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />';

When I used the code above, the integrated lightbox is working perfectly, however I just want to ask what is the purpose of the code that I omitted:

if($context['current_action'] != 'stats' && $context['current_action'] != 'garage')

One more suggestion:

Is it possible to drag the picture and when you click it again, it will automatically close.

Any idea?  ???

I'm going to have to uninstall this as it's messing with the forum CSS.

It works fine (apart from linked images still go into lightbox mode) but if you turn off cookies the forum displays similar to having css disabled. Google previews and google site overlay don't work because of it.

Is uninstalling just a reversal of the install?

Is it possible to make this mod open picture on first click with max height and width which admin will set up ( for example 700 x 700 px ) and on the other click to open original sized picture?

And how about putting some watermark on pictures like forum logo or just a simple text in some corner of picture?

Ehm... I did it and nothing appens... LightBox never shows up.

Here is where mod puts its edits:
foreach ($message['attachment'] as $attachment)
{
if ($attachment['is_image'])
{
if ($attachment['thumbnail']['has_thumb'])
echo '
<a href="', $attachment['href'], ';image" id="link_', $attachment['id'], '" rel="lightbox"><img src="', $attachment['thumbnail']['href'], '" alt="" id="thumb_', $attachment['id'], '" border="0" /></a><br />';
else
echo '
<img src="' . $attachment['href'] . ';image" alt="" width="' . $attachment['width'] . '" height="' . $attachment['height'] . '" border="0" /><br />';
}
echo '
<a href="' . $attachment['href'] . '"><img src="' . $settings['images_url'] . '/icons/clip.gif" align="middle" alt="*" border="0" />&nbsp;' . $attachment['name'] . '</a> (', $attachment['size'], ($attachment['is_image'] ? ', ' . $attachment['real_width'] . 'x' . $attachment['real_height'] . ' - ' . $txt['attach_viewed'] : ' - ' . $txt['attach_downloaded']) . ' ' . $attachment['downloads'] . ' ' . $txt['attach_times'] . '.)<br />';
}

echo '
</div>';
}

Do I have to mod the else part also? (Note that the default theme is the same and it doesn't work either)

One question about this MOD:

Installed it and it works absolutely fine, BUT when I edit someone else's post to include an image with IMG tags, the Lightbox effect doesn't work on that particular image on that particular post. Is it a bug or just me having this problem?

Try refreshing your page with CTRL + F5 after installing.

And also move all the files contained in package to the theme folder you're using.

Is it possible to make this mod open picture on first click with max height and width which admin will set up ( for example 700 x 700 px ) and on the other click to open original sized picture?

And how about putting some watermark on pictures like forum logo or just a simple text in some corner of picture?
Bump!
Bump! Please, it's really urgent. I'm going tonight on vacation and I would like to make this before that.

Hi all

I wonder when would IE7 bug could be solved. Mod installs perfectly and works great with images but as soon as I install this mod I can not reach Packages and Theme & Layout trough admin menu. It gives "Unidentified index" error. I am open for any suggestions...

By the way I am using SMF 1.1.5

Thank you.

PS: In mods page it says this bug fixed but it still has it.

I installed it and it works partially. My forum has the MeshTP theme so i already guessed it wouldnt work at 100%.

But it does let me click in the images to see they're real size, which is already great lol!

Hello, first off I would like to say, sorry for the delay in my posts. A few things have kept me from posting:

1) My wedding, I posted not too long ago about my wedding (July 26), then the honey moon.

2) The city I live in forced me to hook up to city sewer RIGHT after my wedding and honey moon. (by Aug 31) I had to come up with the money then do all the work myself.

3) For some odd reason I do not get notifications about new replies in this thread.

All this things have slowed down my posting here and the development of this mod. Now that I'm starting to get back into a normal working habit again I'll try to keep updated with this thread. I also plan on releasing a shadowbox mod as a lot of the requests here are for advanced features that lightbox does not offer and shadowbox does. Again, sorry for the lack of post. I plan on keeping you guys updated as much as I can. :)

Would you include watermark in your new mod?
And one more thing. Is it possible to include something like Highslide have, when you click on image it opens on some maximum size which admin sets and in some corner to be some kind of button for enlarging to original size.

Now, with ILB picture is streched to maximum size and it is too large for some resolutions if you know what I mean.

Thanks in advance,

Odd issue, in Firefox it works perfectly fine.

In IE I get a "Failure to open (domain here) operation aborted" and the page will never load

Not sure why

Me too, I've installed in SMF 1.1.6.

The photobucket videos (.flv extension) open with lightbox and a thumbnail

is showed. Are there any solution not to open with lightbox? Thanks

Greetings!

The first time I noticed this error, I decided to ask in an other thread.
Now it seems, that this thread fits better and that this problem is documented here already.
Maybe my description will help to find a solution.

You will find my first description here: Re: YouTube BBCode v2.3 (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=197280.msg1680258#msg1680258)

And now again, to keep a useful structure.

I have tested with SMF 1.1.4, 1.1.5 and 1.1.6.

I have installed the YouTube BBCode v2.3 (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=197280.0) mod.

After that I have installed the Lightbox mod Version 1.5 and noticed the error. Than have changed the Version to 1.6, with the same effect.

Error description:
The IE won't open a thread which contains a youtube movie when the lightbox mod is installed.
The translation of the error, see attached image, is maybe Failure to open http: //url operation aborted.
Both mods are working as expected, if the other one isn`t installed.
The Lightbox mod is working as expected if the YouTube mod is installed.

This only happens with the IE.
I tried it with IE Version 6 under XP and IE Version 7 under Vista.
(Both with "normal" secure settings and as insecure as possible.)
Firefox 2 / 3 show the thread correct.
Google Chrome show the thread correct.
Haven't tested with Opera.

Temporary solution:
karlbenson sent some ideas for a workaround, here: Re: YouTube BBCode v2.3 (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=197280.msg1713590#msg1713590).

So I tried to run his Integrate Lightbox 1.4 (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1019).
This version is working together with the youtube mod.

Now it seems obvious that there is a (maybe small) change in the lightbox code or in the java script part. At the moment it ok for me to run the old lightbox version, but I think that it would be nice to find a solution for this problem and avoid it in a future release (or earlier?).

Thanks for you attention.

Great mod.... works perfect on new attachments but not old ones.... I also notice that it causes IE to fail.  Any work around for this?

Could not find an answer doing a search.  Using SMF 1.1.6 and the newest version of Lightbox.

Thanks

Edit:  Never mind, found the problem.....      rateTopic is not compatible with this mod.  Once uninstalled, this mod worked just fine. :)

No need for any instructions imho.
The site you mentioned use to show threads on the frontpage. Look into the Admin settings of the TP and you will find the frontpage settings.
If an image is shown in a thread, and the thread is shown on the frontpage, the lightbox feature will work.

Well, now to something differend.
Is there any supported from the author or is this mod dead?

I think I've made a bit of a mistake.  I unistalled karlbenson's 1.3 version which was working fine under SMF 1.1.6 (under three themes) to upgrade to Quake's 1.6 version.

1.3 Reported as uninstalling successfully and 1.6 reported as having installed successfully.

Now however the lightbox doesn't appear to do anything under the default smf profile.  I've checked to see if the automatic has matched the manual install instructions which it does.  Even uninstalled and tried a reinstall, also tried manually for the other themes.  No go.

Am I missing something or is this just not working?

Moreinfo

These are resized images...  when I click on them something looks like it trys to start up in the centre of the screen for a fragment of a second and then the image opens up full size but not in the groovy lightbox window - just top left in a standard white background page...

Sounds like this is the same error Saneone was having in: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=233637.msg1649171#msg1649171

If I remmember correctly there must be some javascript files included in the package. They must go to your themes root directory.

Themes/default/
Themes/xxx/
etc...

I was having a similar problem but when I put the .js files under the theme folder it worked correctly.

I am not sure but just check. It might take only a minute or so.

interestingly they were set to file attribute 666 - set them to full access 777 and tried still no joy.

Any chance to make this work with SMF Media Gallery (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1365)?
The images opens in a new tab instead of in Slimbox. :/ Would love if anyone could fix this or tell me how to.
The direct image links in SMF Media Gallery looks like this:
http://chanzi.be/MGalleryItem.php?id=43

EDIT: Nao @ SMF-Media.com, co-maker of SMF Media Gallery said this:
QuoteI'm sure he'll update his mod to manage default SMG URLs. Just tell him he can use a regexp of that kind: "%action=mgallery;sa=media;id=[0-9]+%"...
Or if he needs a complete URL -- "%'.$scripturl.'?action=mgallery;sa=media;id=[0-9]+(?:;(thumb|preview|icon))?%"
I think that should do... If he uses regular expressions, of course!

Click on [THIS] (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=parse;mod=1158;attach=57110;smf_version=1.1.7) link, and look at the changes you need to make for those two templates.

You may also need to move/copy the images for this mod over to you images folder for your new theme, and also the 2 .js files, and .css file that come with this mod.

If you have any problems, post back.
Good luck :)

Using Integrate Lightbox with 1.1.7, when someone uses an imageshack link (example: http://img528.imageshack.us/my.php?image=wowscrnshot010409155235rk1.jpg) Integrate Lightbox tries to render it as if it is an actual image, which it isn't.

Im a little confused.
When I clicked your link, and it went to image shack, all I saw was an image.
What do you mean by your quoted text?
What is it then?

I have installed Lightbox v1.6 and it installs without any errors.  But after installing it I cant navigate to the Packages folder in the Admin Control panel.  I get the attached error message when clicking the packages link.  I'm installing it on 1.1.7

Greetings!

It seems, that this mod causes some errors when other mods are installed which uses js also. I'm sure for the YouTube mod but noticed it with another one also (can't remember the name). Maybe the new package manager need some js also and this can cause your problem.

Try to watch your site with Firefox ore Opera and I'm quite sure that you will notice, that your site will be shown correct.
I recommend to use an other mod instead of this. For example Highslide Image Viewer (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1450) or Image Zoom Tag (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=930).

Haven't tested them but it seems, that they are working better.

Do you think if I removed the Youtube mod it would correct this error?  Also I like the Highslide and if I install it I have no problems, but  what is nice about the Lightbox is the way it darkens the background and Highslide doesnt do that.

Absolutely the same as Lightbox and Highslide, this mod have the same bug: it's impossible to open linked images. Per instance:
[URL=http://www.example.com][IMG]http://www.images/image.jpg[/IMG][/URL]
doesn't work, it keeps "loading". It's a major bug and nobody have been able to fix it unfortunately.

Greetings!

I'm not sure, but I don't think so. The problem with the YouTube mod was only an example for problems, which this mod can cause. I think that it causes problems when other mods (or the SMF) use other js files.
This is only my guess!

You can use the latest version from karlbenson: Integrate Lightbox (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1019).
This one is working together with 1.1.7 and don't seem to cause problems with other mods or js files. But keep in mind that this mod will not be updated anymore.

You could use the Image Zoom Tag (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=930) if you want to keep your background color, because it will zoom and not use an own window with unwanted colors.
Or you could edit the css file which is included in the Highslide Image Viewer (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1450) to fit your needs.

Anyway, I recommend to use a mod which comes with it's own bbc-tag and don't make use of the [.img]-tag.

This mod should be removed as it restrict SMF capabilities to follow an URL from an image.

QuoteSo there is a way to change the Highslide css script to darken the background when an image is clicked on?

Sure. Download the highslide.css to your local computer. Open with an editor. I recommend not to use the MS notepad but notepad++ (Only an example, feel free to use your favorite.)
SourceForge.net: Notepad++   (http://sourceforge.net/projects/notepad-plus/)

I think this code should be the one you have to change:
.highslide-image {
    border-width: 2px;
    border-style: solid;
    border-color: white;
    background: gray;
}
.highslide-wrapper, .rounded-white {
    background: white;
}

Maybe you have to change other color definitions also to keep a nice look and feel.

After that upload the highslide.css again and you are done.

Don't forget to backup!
Don't forget to test your board with other browsers!

I run a quick download of this mod only to see if it comes with an own css file (easy to edit) or if the color definitions are embed inside the php files.
Than I copy and past a small piece of the css file to give an example but not the whole file like you have done.
So, of course your quote looks different.

My goal was to give you an idea on how to find / open / edit the file and change some basic color settings.

As mentioned, I don't know this mod and so I don't know if it will darken the whole monitor except the image (by default).
But if you have a closer look, you will notice that the highslide function in general allow to have this feature.
http://highslide.com/example-gallery-in-box.html (http://highslide.com/example-gallery-in-box.html)

I can't say if this mod support something like that out of the box.
You should ask in the highslide thread Highslide Image Viewer (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=266750.0).
If this feature isn't supported, maybe somebody can add this.

If you want to do it yourself, this could be helpfull.

there is an error "Value undefined (result of expression el.set) is not object." when loading the frontpage with images that would otherwise display in the lighbox. I dont know exactly whats going on with the .js, but considering slimbox.js has reference to an 'el' variable im guessing this might have something to do with it.

For 1.1.8 users

1. Install v1.4 of the mod

then in Subs.php :

Find:

$c = empty($c) ? '' : $c['host'];

Replace:

$c = empty($c['host']) ? '' : $c['host'];

to avoid the "Undefined index: host" error.

v1.6 does NOT work as it should.

I managed to add slideshow in this mod. replace the following files mootools1.11.js, slimbox.css, slimbox.js, in your /site/Themes/default/ with the attached files.

Then copy and overwrite the files in image folder /site/Themes/default/Images/ with the attached files images.zip

I works great in my site.

This is a nice mod thank you. It works fine on my SMF default theme and I have manually modded the Babylon theme which also works fine.

However I also have the Dilber MC theme installed and it does not work on this. I looked to do a manual install and it does not have a display.template.php file anywhere in the theme folder.

Do I have to copy one from the default into the dilber mc folder or am I missing something more obvious? The other themes have this file in their folders.

Any help on this gratefully acknowledged.

Am running SMF 1.1.9 upgraded recently from 1.1.8.

Cheers

Chas.

Maybe you missed to copy a necessary file (which comes with the mod) into your theme.
As far as I know, the "fallback" is working for SMF files, but not for mod-files in any case.

Personally I ran into a lot of problems with this mod, when other mods are using .js files.
(Maybe your theme and this mod aren't working well together.)
Because of that, I prefer the Highslide Image Viewer (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1450), which offers the same function, but seem to be more stable. (I don't want to blame the mod author, so this is a private opinion.)

I also have problem apply this mod in my dilber mc theme. After the manual install, you will notice that the js script for mootools is not shown in source code of your page

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.allkoreans.net/Themes/default/mootools1.11.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.allkoreans.net/Themes/default/slimbox.js"></script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://www.allkoreans.net/Themes/default/slimbox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />

so I've modify same codes here and luckily it works great.

In index.template.php in my dilberMC theme i find this code
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/print.css?fin11" media="print" />';

and I add this after it
//Integrate Lightbox Mod: Start
echo '
<script type="text/javascript" src="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/mootools1.11.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/slimbox.js"></script>

Title: Re: Integrate Lightbox

Thank you so much fangweile, this has made the function work perfectly. I did already have the following code in the index.template for the dilbermc theme.

   //Integrate Lightbox Mod: End

// Include the Lightbox Scripts (except for the stats page and SMF Garage)
// if($context['current_action'] != 'stats' && $context['current_action'] != 'garage')
// echo '
//       <!-- Integrate Lightbox Mod: Start -->
//        <!-- MooTools Includes -->
//        <script type="text/javascript" src="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/mootools1.11.js"></script>

//        <!-- Lightbox Includes -->
//        <script type="text/javascript" src="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/slimbox.js"></script>
//        <link rel="stylesheet" href="', $settings['default_theme_url'], '/slimbox.css" type="text/css" media="screen" />
//        <!-- Integrate Lightbox Mod: End -->';

But by commenting out with // and adding your code above, it works great now.

I suspect the first line with the if($context['current_action'] statement in it was the cause of the problem as the remaining lines are the same as yours. I'll leave it as it is for now in case I have to uninstall the mod at some stage.

Thank you again for your help in making this work and thanks too to everyone else who has tried to assist me.

Chas.

Maybe this mod should have a warning i.e about NOT being compatible if "highslide" mod is installed.
The Display.template.php replace-code collides here:

The Highslide code:
echo '
<a href="', $attachment['href'], ';image" id="link_', $attachment['id'], '" class="highslide" rel="highslide"><img src="', $attachment['thumbnail']['href'], '" alt="' , $attachment['name'] , '" id="thumb_', $attachment['id'], '" border="0" /></a><br /><div class="highslide-heading">' , $context['subject'] , '</div>';

The Lightbox code:
echo '
<a href="', $attachment['href'], ';image" id="link_', $attachment['id'], '" rel="lightbox[smf]"><img src="', $attachment['thumbnail']['href'], '" alt="" id="thumb_', $attachment['id'], '" border="0" /></a><br />';

anyway.. I did try to NOT replace the highslide code w. the lightbox code.. and the only thing Ive found is:
the slideshow-function isnt working in lightbox. ( there IS next / previous buttons functional.. )
If I want to have a slideshow-function, I have to attach the pictures instead.( using highslide )

.. hmm.. maybe I should ditch the highslide mod, and let lightbox take over..

Here is the board where to find it
http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=333693.0
I will copy the code from that topic

The mod would simply have to work you should only just a bit to tweak it for your version of smf pack it out and open package-info.xml

Find

<install for="2.0 Beta 1, 2.0 Beta 1.1, 2.0 Beta 1.2, 2.0 Beta 2, 2.0 Beta 3 Public">

Replace with

<install for="2.0 Beta 1, 2.0 Beta 1.1, 2.0 Beta 1.2, 2.0 Beta 2, 2.0 Beta 3 Public, 2.0 RC 1-2">

same for the uninstall tag!!!
then packing and then he should work to my knowledge.

Note that I have not found but "The Burglar"! for which I thank  ;)

I can't install this Mod on my SMF 2.0 RC 1.2, though I had edited the package-info.xml file and changed the version number to:

2.0 - 2.99.99.

Just a question?
I am currently using DS-Natural (http://custom.simplemachines.org/themes/index.php?lemma=749) and it doesn't exactly have a Display.template.php file, so how exactly can i make this module work???

Since its already working on the other themes, and i did the manual edits to all themes but since this theme doesn't have a Display.template.php i can't exactly do that same edit there.

Would love a version for SMF2 RC2. This mod adds nice polish to my forum that I'd hate to lose when I upgrade.

Are you planning on updating this mod anytime soon? If not then please say so, so I can update it myself.

How about an updated version for SMF 1.1.x that allows hyperlinking the images?

As many people have pointed out, using this mod breaks the ability to do the following:

You can do that, except for images hosted in photobucked and imageshack.us.
I have the lastest version (1.6), that said that this problem is fixed, but it is not, in smf 1.1.11

Hi Robbo_,

Does this work for 2.0 RC3? I really like this mode. If it does not work for RC3, should I do a lot to fix?

Thank you.

Hi!

I just installed this but instead of opening the Lightbox when I click an image, it opens a new Tab with the image. Some other users get the lightbox but note me.

I'm using FF4, and the other users are using it also. Any ideas?

Hi there,

I've got quite a problem over here, too .. I use smf 1.1.16 .

It doesn't work .. when i click on an image that simply open a new blank windows with the right dimension image..

For istance :

i have this into a post:

[img]http://www.mysite.org/photos/meandmydog.jpg[/img]

if i click that, the browser transfer me in a new blank page at the address : http://www.mysite.org/photos/meandmydog.jpg

doesn't act like a lightbox  ... it seems just change the simple image in a "clickable" one.

May i do something ?

Thanks

T.

Ok I solved ...

didn't see this :

Installation
Simply install the package to install on the SMF Default Core Theme ONLY.
All other themes will require manual edits for index.template.php and display.template.php

Note, due to differences in themes, you may have to slightly modify the 'default' edits to work on other themes. (eg if you get template parse error, check whether there is an extra unneeded php echo ' at the beginning of the edit or '; at the end.
