I would like to comment on the ease of use regarding the SMF forum. Compared to the others out there this is by far the simplest. Thanks for a great product!

Thanks for the feedback :)
I will move this to our general feed back board as the one you posted in was about the site itself.

I second you on that... the other day I was reading a phpBB 3 based forum, and though it contains lots of nice features and so on, I got 'tired' of reading it after a while... you just don't feel the 'harmony' between the elements and you find yourself somewhat irritated after a while... maybe it's just a question of habit I don't know.
Of course this doesn't mean SMF couldn't get itself a better theme ;)
The only forums I enjoy reading apart from SMF-based forums nowadays are those with very minimalistic themes, like for example, www.99.se , which keep it simple and functional.
The way phpbb handles new unread posts has always been annoying to me, and trying to follow threads I've already posted in, is just near impossible...
In SMF again, it's a matter of clicking a link designed to do exactly that.

Honestly, I think that is one of SMF's best, but most underrated feature. You don't need to worry about e-mail subscriptions to keep track of what conversations you have posted in, it's automatic and non-naggy.

Agreed. :)
Indeed, the performance trade-off is worth it in my opinion.
