I'm wondering if there's an option for being notified of new posts to an SMF forum. I'm trying to breath life into a new forum and I'd like to know when a new posts comes in without checking it all the time - then be able to stop the notifications once things start growing on their own.

The Notify button on the Message Index allows any registered member to subscribe to email notification of replies to topics in a board.

Also with SMF 2.* you can use the Post Moderation feature to greater control what people can post. Once in the cue I'm sure all those able too see it will be notified of new posts.
