A user of my board typed a slang word "FCC'd" in their message meaning that they had obtained a future cruse credit. When they did a spell check of their post SMF flagged "FCC'd" as being misspelled and suggested the word "******ed" among other words. In fact spell check did the same thing with this message. Is there a way to delete the word "******ed" from the SMF dictionary?
there is nothing like SMF dictionary SMF use pspell library.
LainaaEnable spell checking - Enable spell checking. You MUST have the pspell library installed on your server and your PHP configuration set up to use the pspell library.

As said we don't provide the dictionary, we just make use of it.
There have been talks though that we should apply word censors from the censor list some how to the search to prevent it, but it hasn't made much work yet.
Edit, though I can't get search here to suggest it nor could I get it at my live website :(
Im getting the same.
not necessary to post an image with the word...
Again, this is beyond our control. SMF uses the PSpell dictionaries that arre automatically installed by your host and compiled when PHP is run. SMF has nothing to do with the words in that dictionary (although there is a mod to ADD words, I believe)
Yes there is a mod to add words.. I don't know how well it would work in reverse though. Seems logical.
I would actually argue that we should probably apply our word censor to the output of pSpell and not put in any suggestions that don't pass the censor. Think this could go on the bug tracker for 2.0 IMHO

To all -- this is not a publically visible bug.
