My forum has been open since like Feb 18th and I have one guy that says when he tries to go to the site he gets this error:
Database Error: Lost connection to MySQL server during query
File: /home/content/f/o/b/fobnation/html/SMF/Sources/Security.php
Line: 272Database Error: MySQL server has gone away
File: /home/content/f/o/b/fobnation/html/SMF/Sources/Load.php
Line: 2007[/b
Anything I can do to change this.....
I've seen this most often where the mysql database isn't stored on localhost (commonly with godaddy's cheap shared hosting).
If I recall correctly, its due to a very short timeout in their mysql servers.
Most users most commonly come across this when posting pictures and SMF's max width/height functionality.
As in order to test whether the image exceeds the max functionality, smf has to download the image. Its during that period there is the timeout.
Admin > "Features and Options" => "Basic features".
Set both of these to 0
Max width of posted pictures (0 = disable)
Max height of posted pictures (0 = disable)
If that doesn't resolve your issue, then I would recommend contacting your host.
