Title: Error Messages on registration
Post by: Anarchy on May 28, 2008, 06:51:29 AM
Below is the registration link :

http://www.hababam.biz/component/option,com_smf_registration/task,register/

Error Messages :

Warning: mysql_select_db() [function.mysql-select-db]: Access denied for user 'hababams'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in /home/hababams/public_html/modules/mod_smf_login.php on line 55

Warning: mysql_select_db() [function.mysql-select-db]: A link to the server could not be established in /home/hababams/public_html/modules/mod_smf_login.php on line 55

Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Access denied for user 'hababams'@'localhost' (using password: NO) in /home/hababams/public_html/modules/mod_smf_login.php on line 60

How can I get rid of these messages ?

Grant access for your Joomla database user to SMF.

What version of SMF?  What version of Joomla?

What version of bridge?  From where did you download it?

This was with mambo when I upgraded to joomla a friend did some optimizations or did nothing dunno and it worked for joomla as well smf is 1.1.5 but I solved the problem it is astatspro ... I just removed that component but I still have an issue with my bridge people cant register from forum : www.hababam.biz/forum I want if somebody clicks register on my forum to be forwarded to http://www.hababam.biz/component/option,com_smf_registration/task,register/ can you help me with that and I downlaoded the bridge from here

Your bridge is here:  http://www.hababam.biz/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=1

Not here:   http://www.hababam.biz/forum

This:  http://www.hababam.biz/forum is your stand alone forum.  Because the bridge makes no changes to the forum, the stand alone forum is not bridged in any way.

if I got you correct I am in here :

http://www.mysite.com/forum/theme/?th=6;sa=edit;filename=languages/Settings.turkish.php;sesc=44abdfedbae09d42110e0d46ec5f1032

but there is no link to edit or anything to do with register

you'll have to change the target of action=register... or change the action in the original links...

sources/themes.php
themes/{yourtheme}/index.template.php (register button)
themes/{yourtheme}/login.template.php (register link)
themes/default/langauge/errors.{language}.php
themes/default/langauge/index.{language}.php

I finally did it with following

http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=564.msg927#msg927

Do I need to edit else places and when I upgrade smf to 1.1.7 for example in the future will I have to edi again ?

you may have changed the register button...  but that did not change the links to action=register in the login screen or any of the other locations.

And yes... if you made changes in your source files or default template, then you may well have to re-make those changes when you upgrade to a new version (depending on how you upgrade)

How will I change it in the login screen ? my current template dilbermc doesnt have login.template.php but the default template has ...

right... if your template does not overirde a file, the system uses the default version....   so modify the default theme files.

hey I edited this line on default theme Login.template.php

// Show the message or default message.
   echo '
               <td class="windowbg" style="padding-top: 2ex; padding-bottom: 2ex;">
                  ', empty($context['kick_message']) ? $txt[634] : $context['kick_message'], '<br />
                  ', $txt[635], ' <a href="http://www.hababam.biz/component/option,com_smf_registration/task,register/">', $txt[636], '</a> ', $txt[637], '
               </td>';

http://www.hababam.biz/component/option,com_smf_registration/task,register/

is the link where I want people to go when they click register but it is still going to normal register strange ... and there is no other register word in the whole file

Reread Kindred's post:

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=241647.msg1558518#msg1558518

There is nothing in Settings.{language}.php for you to change.  Only those files listed in Kindred's post.
