Hello, I have installed Joomla 1.5.3 and SMF 1.1.5 with separate data bases. I would like to bridge them so when a person logs into Joomla (Front page) they are logged on both. Wright now you have to click the forums link at the top of the Joomla page and once the SMF opens you then need to log on there as well.
I just don't know which converter to use?
I would also like to know how this works? After the conversion, when a person registers on the Joomla front page will this also register them on SMF?
Please let me know!
Thanks!
A Bridge exists only for Joomla 1.0.x ,you can download JoomlaHacks (http://www.joomlahacks.com). I think there is no existing bridge for SMF with Joomla 1.5.
Thank you for the reply. Link doesn't work or the sites down? Any idea where to look?
Try it later ;)
The Bridge has no more Support from the Joomlahacks team. Developer and the Support team has stopped (in June 2007).
Then is there any bridge for SMF 1,1,x or 2 to joomla 1,5,x ???
Many topics about this on these forums. The Joomla! license does not permit distribution of the SMF bridge. Summer 2007 all developers stopped with bridges.
At this point in time there is JFusion. No dual login (yet).
I have not been able to upgrade Joomla! after 1.1.12 (September 2007) and had to make a decision and switched to TinyPortal for my 2 community-sites. I want to keep SMF and not being forced by Joomla! to go to phpBB3 or *$#$^* Fireboard.
Why not migrate your Joomla! to Mambo ;-)

If your designed knows Joomla! 1.0, they'll know Mambo just fine. Joomla! didn't diverge greatly until version 1.5.
thanks
then what are exactly the difference between mambo and joomla 1.0.15 ?

They are very closely related - Joomla is what's known as a "fork" of Mambo.
Mambo is UTF8 Joomla 1.0.15 not
Mambo has an universal installer for extensions Joomla not
Etc
And Mambo has an SMF bridge Joomla has no active bridge any more :D
Ok then I'm trying now mambo ;)
I must find it in french
thank you for your explanations :)
