Otsikko: Package Manager
Kirjoitti: darkermoon - tammikuu 15, 2005, 07:23:59 IP
I have a problem that whenever I go to browse a package server I get this message
An Error Has Occurred!
Unable to connect to the server. Please try using this URL instead.

Is there anything I can do about this? I'm running SMF 1.0.1

That means that the server you selected is currently down. Only the owner of the server can do something about that.

I realize that's what it's supposed to do but, it's not working with any of them. And, i've checked a few manually and they're up.

If it doesn't work with ANY of them, it means your server doesn't support the package browsing functionality.

You'll have to download the files and put them in Packages/ manually.

Sorry for bumping this old thread, but what, exactly, is needed on the server for that functionality?

I'm managing my own servers, and I can't get this to work on one of them...

Specifically, safe_mode needs to be off and allow_url_fopen needs to be on.

Thanks :D

That did the trick - now I can browse packages again!
