Otsikko: Problem with SMF 2 SSI.php
Kirjoitti: bschhikara - kesäkuu 30, 2008, 03:13:19 AP
Hi

I was just planning to use SSI.php on other sections of my site. But is showing strftime function error when I checked the ssi_examples.php (and on inclusion of SSI.php on other page of site as well). The error is of type

Strict Standards: strftime() [function.strftime]: It is not safe to rely on the system's timezone settings. Please use the date.timezone setting, the TZ environment variable or the date_default_timezone_set() function. In case you used any of those methods and you are still getting this warning, you most likely misspelled the timezone identifier. We selected 'Asia/Calcutta' for 'IST/5.0/no DST' instead in /home/indiein1/public_html/sciforum/Sources/Subs.php on line 805

You can check that at

http://www.sciforum.indianscience.in/ssi_examples.php (time setting changed through admin)
or
http://indianscience.in/testsciforum/ssi_examples.php (no time setting changed).

while it is working fine for SMF 1.5 on same server...

How do I correct it.

I have re-installed ssi.php and subs.php from original SMF package. but it not solving.. I am getting it how get rid of it.

Ahh, my host did this to me!!
Add this to the Settings.php file, down the bottom somewhere

date_default_timezone_set('Asia/Calcutta');

just as a point, I think it's probably a better solution if you change the default_timezone to whatever your timezone is.  I did that and got rid of the time offset I had in and it's working perfectly, I got the proper list here, http://wiki.tcl.tk/14853

LainaaNot all conversion specifiers may be supported by your C library, in which case they will not be supported by PHP's strftime()
from http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.strftime.php (http://ro.php.net/manual/en/function.strftime.php)
