Hi.
I used to be a member of a reasonably active smf 1.x forum that went off-line several years ago. I have the directory tree backed up, though not the database. There are two things I'd like to do.
1. Localise a copy on my own computer, with relative links pointing to local theme folders. [Edit: "Fixed"]
2. When I'm launching my own smf 2.x forum later this year, I would like to have the old forum included as a searchable archive within the new forum.
I thought the first task would have been easy enough, tried several batch find-and-replace operations, but always ended up with the forum still trying to pull non-existent images off the web. Must be missing something.
[Edit: Sort of sorted that part. Changed all the "http://www.name_of_old_board.com/path/to/theme/" references to "file:///path/to/theme/"and the "http://www.name_of_old_board.com/path/to/index.php/" references to "file:///path/to/index.php/". Not ideal, as I would have preferred relative, rather than absolute, links for potability reasons, but at least it works.]
I haven't looked into the second bit.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers.
