Title: Using cb_login
Post by: hustle1081 on July 20, 2008, 02:10:21 PM
I am trying to get Joomla, community builder (CB), and smf all functioning together.  I want to use the CB login due to its ability to customize registration fields.

Right now when a new user registers using the CB registration it adds them in CB and Joomla because they are synced up correctly, but it does not add the user to the smf user list.  How do I get this to sync up?

Also when I do sync it up using the Joomla hacks bridge, it does bring the user names over but the passwords don't seem to work for some reason.

Is there a way to force users to register through my actual site and through CB rather than on the smf?  I want to shut off the registration on the smf can this be done?

I appreciate any help anyone can provide, thank you.

I actually figured out most of these problems myself after playing around with some of the features and reinstalling some features.  I still have tow things I need resolved.

1.)  I would like to disable the ability to register a new user in smf.  If there a way to disable this or redirect them to the CB registration so that they can not register from the forum?

2.)  Upon log out of my cb_login it takes the user to the smf forum.  I would like logout to take me back to my websites homepage index.  How do I go about doing this?

If you are using the old 1.1.7 bridge made here, you MUST use mod_smf_login. You can not use cb_login. If you are using a different bridge, then I suggest you ask on that bridge's support forum.

1- of course their IS a way...  You'll just have to re-code a bunch of places in SMF. Is there an automatic way? No.

2- check with the support for whatever bridge you are using or CB support...
