Title: Migration advise needed.
Post by: higherauthority on July 30, 2008, 12:43:33 AM
I have been running smf + Joomla for years and I am going to plan to migrate to smf + Mambo since its the closest thing to what I already have.

My question  is  that right now I am at smf 1.1.5 and I see 2.0 is available for beta. Would it be easiest to install a new 2.0 then upgrade my db for my 1.1.5  then import it ?, or is there a way to install my cms+Smf as 1.1.5 import muy current db, then do the upgrade later?

I plan on this migration no later than the end of summer.

I am using separate databases for joomla and SMF currently.

Anyone know if there is a migration advisory or anything similar anywhere?    I have search here but did not find anything.

SMF 2.0 and the corresponding bridge are both still in beta, so not advised to use those on a production site.

There is a topic at the Mambo forum discussing migration from Joomla.
