I was just sitting here looking at my news. And it dawned on me that I would like to post new news every day. Something like a quote, or inspirational statement to our students. Of course, this is easy enough, but would it be possible to have a 'news file' or section in the forum admin area, like the news edit area, where you could post a news item, or list of news items for days.
Example, if you could post a quote on every day of the calender, and the news reader would add that quote into its lineup at the start of each day. The next day, that previous quote would vanish, and the new one would appear. This would be a very cool feature I believe. You could have it for daily, monthly, hourly change if needed. I could see many uses for such an option.
This would allow someone to put up a months worth of news at one time if they wish. And the server would parse it automatically as set up in the settings.
Just a thought.
Sounds interesting, I like it, i wonder if it would be useful to do php includes in the news box then it would be easyier to do.
Just wanted to pop this back up for people to see / think about. Anyone of you gurus that make mods....could this be done? If so, can someone possibly tackle this. Would be a GREAT feature I believe.
