Post by: Profesor Pennington on August 21, 2008, 08:13:49 PM
Sick!  I just figured out how to allow users to embed voice threads! from www.voicethread.com

[flash=425,350.]http://voicethread.com/book.swf?b=176706[/flash.]

can I allow users to embed Skype buttons or general HTML?

Thanks!

You can't allow users to embed all html because that would be a security risk. However you can enable the 'Enable basic HTML in posts' setting in the admin panel under 'Forum' -> 'Posts and Topics' -> 'Enable basic HTML in posts'. That will allow your users to add some html.

I don't believe that there is a way to add your own Skype buttons, but you could create your own skype BBC. If you want to do this then have a look at the 'parsebbc()' function in your 'Subs.php' file, it has a lot of documentation about adding new BBC. I can also help you if you need any explanations. ;)

By adding Skype buttons, do you mean under their username? See this mod (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1333).
