hey guys i want to know if its possible and what it would take to have an smf and phpbb3 forums run from the same database

Wait? So you want to install SMF 2.0 and phpBB3 on the same database? Of course you can do that, because their database prefixes will be different and so are the table names themselves ;)

While you could create a script to mirror actions on both databases this would be a lot of work

Could you be more specific wolf? What do you mean? You want to have both forum share the members table or something? Or do you want to know if you can install phpBB and SMF on the same database without interference from the other forum?

Although for security reasons, you might want to put them on different databases.

Ok sorry what i wanted was to have both forums running from the same database so that both forums would mirror, but i agree with whoever said it would be a lot of hard work lol, hard work that i dont have much spare time to do

What is your motivation for wanting to do this?

If don't want users to have to adapt to SMF you could always make the phpbb theme for SMF

I'm just going to leave the idea on the back burner for now, far too much work lol
