Hi. I am new to SMF but allready i want to make my own theme. I use TinyPortal + SMF.
So a lot of data is on the page twice and i like minimal approach these time to use.
So the question i have is:
How do i remove entire Info Center from forum to display it? (Forum Stats, Users On line, Login).
I would not like to produce bugs in the process. Just /* */ some lines in templates if its possible.

Unfortunately /* */ comments won't work, because they are used for commenting in the SMF template file. ;)
Instead, you should just remove the code.

Great post. I would also like to remove the info bar. (Nice feature for a future release)
I found this on the board.index.template.php. Problem is that when I delete this text and leave echo ', I still get the parse error.

Hi - i'm glad to find this right now (exactly what i need) - is it possible to hide the infocenter only for guests instead of completly remove ?

I want the info center be shown to members only, but not to guests. Would that be possible?

do you mean to add this line for about 50 times? because there are 50 echos...
To hide the InfoCenter from guests, for myself, using v.1.1.13, I added the following:
BoardIndex.template.php
Add:
if ($context['user']['is_logged'])
After:
// "Users online" - in order of activity.
After:
// Here's where the "Info Center" starts...
After:
// This is the "Recent Posts" bar.
Before:
echo '
', $context['show_who'] ? '<a href="' . $scripturl . '?action=who">' : '', $context['num_guests'], ' ', $context['num_guests'] == 1 ? $txt['guest'] : $txt['guests'], ', ' . $context['num_users_online'], ' ', $context['num_users_online'] == 1 ? $txt['user'] : $txt['users'];
I hope this will be a standard option for the future. I have tried to copy en paste some of these codes from here and even replaced the complete BoardIndex.php template but the board returned a lot of errors.
and yes the best option is to show this info only to members
