Title: Recent posts on FrontPage
Post by: Guesty on August 31, 2008, 04:15:41 PM
Hi, website concerned is www.yeltz.co.uk

I want to try and show recent posts from the forum on the front page, I have searched this forum and the joomla forum, tried various extensions but non seem to work.  I have not bridged the site and dont really want to at the moment but want the recent posts to appear on the front page of the site.

How do I do this??

Is there an application that actually works or is there something easy I can do in Joomla admin??

I know I can get info from here, but how do I use it??  http://www.yeltz.co.uk/forum/ssi_examples.php

Best Regards and thanks in advance.

you will have to build your own joomla modules using SSI.php and the ssi_functions.

you have to build a joomla module... (see joomla support for that)

in the joomla module your would include('path/to/SSI.php'); and then call ssi_recentPosts();

You could also look into using the SMF RSS feed capability.

Looked at this also and may be the easy option I think.

Any other help advice is more than welcome.
