I am using SMF 1.0.1.

Whenever I try to apply a package, I get the following error:
Lainaa2: opendir(): SAFE MODE Restriction in effect. The script whose uid is 720 is not allowed to access ---/www/html/forum/Packages/temp owned by uid 48

But, when I tried to chmod /temp it said "Operation not permitted". So, I deleted /temp and created a new folder that I could chmod. This got me to the first stage after clicking apply mod, but any other steps just re-created the folder that could not be chmodded and gave the same error.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Contact to your host. Package manager wont work with safe mode servers.

Ah yes, I suppose the "SAFE MODE Restriction in effect" message would have given it away. :P For some reason I thought that my host had safe mode disabled, but I guess not. Thanks Owdy.  :)
