Title: clean up php, need help
Post by: Goosemoose on January 28, 2005, 11:12:10 PM
Hi Guys,
My host has compiled a lot into php. Can you let me know what I can decompile, and how to do it (I have full root access). I'm running mambo, coppermine, and smf. My site also seems to be eating up all of the 256mb of ram available to me. Does this seem right? Full info is at http://www.goosemoose.com/phpinfo.php

IMHO, that's much better.

Thanks Unknown. I really don't have an idea as to what half of the stuff does. Could you give me a tip as to how to uninstall the extra stuff? Is there a cnf file hiding somewhere I need to edit? I have never done a linux install of php so I don't know where to go, and I can't find out what to do via google.

Sorry, how it works is you download PHP's source, extract it, and run the command I posted (the really long one starting with ./configure.)

Next, you do a "make" and then a "make install" as root.
