Hi everyone!
I received an email from: "myusername"@gator375.hostgator.com saying:
LainaaThere has been a problem with the database!
This is a notice email to let you know that SMF could not connect to the database,
contact your host if this continues.
I don't understand this. Can anyone explain this to me, and advise what I need to do about it?
Thank you!
best to contact your host and check out your error logs to see what is causing it
Its likely that MySQL on your server was temporary off-line, probably because they were doing some maintenance or the server needed rebooting. So unless you keep on getting these messages you shouldn't worry about it too much, but asking your host can't hurt. ;)
Okay, thank you Bec & LHVWB - I appreciate you both for your assistance. My error log is clear, so I'll wait and see if this happens again. If not, it's probably like you said about MySQL maintenance.
Your welcome. Im sure LHVWB was right, I get those emails occasionally and nothing ever really happens, its over before I have even noticed :) If your error log is clear I wouldn't worry!
Hi Everyone,
How do I stop this? I just disabled my website because I deleted the databases, I am moving it to a different host and I don't want them on the old host anymore.
Can you please let me know how do I stop SMF from checking DB?
please open your own support thread, this thread is years old and belongs to someone else.
