reason option
"Check the avatar size every time it is displayed "
That option tends to cause problems on a lot of boards... In fact, we recommend you don't use that :)
:o Cool! I hadn't noticed that I had 'Check the avatar size every time..' option on, and so I disabled it to see if it'd help with the loading times and the loading times went from:
0.3 (Average) To:
0.07
Awesome! :)
I hate that option, it should be ripped out.

*Nods* How much do you think it'd put your loading times up by if you turned the option on? :P

After reading this I had to check mine, and I didn't have it checked. Not sure why I would have, what purpose does it serve? What is the reason it is included?

If you have a size limit on your avatars, you can enable this option to help 'enforce' the size limit. This means, though, that every avatar will be checked for it's size every time it appears in a thread. If you have something like 'Download and resize avatar' check every avatar over a certain height will be resized, resulting in even more increased loading times.
Yes, I can see that... although would those rules not be enforced during the selection / upload of the image. If a member uploads a AV would it not check it the, resize, or reject it? If it was a AV that *I* put in the selectables then I would have to make sure they where XX x XX before I uploaded them. I thought that was enforced when the user updated their profile?
