I've got the exact same bug in almost the entire search feature,
in the start, as search result, under each search result...
my guess is the $context array is either not filled properly or wrongly refered to,
as the entire bug text is:

I used that file to download the files a while back for my forum, on RC1, and it works fine. I did however have to create a theme_info file myself ;)

i installed this new theme and i could see the new buttons but everything looks the same, colors backbrground, etc. i see no effects just like in the sample picture of the index file.

yeah, right now i am using the default theme i received in this SMF package. i doubled checked the paths and all images are correct, so far new buttons are ok and a few colors spread out here and there, but the only thing that is happening, i don't see the bubble effect. let me mentioned this really quick, i have installed the new languages for the smf rc 1 because i have many people for other countries using my message board, but i have no other themes installed except the ones (i repeat) that came with the package itself.
when i use the chat theme i get no errors whatsoever, the only thing is no buble effect! i made sure the paths are ok and everything seems to point to the right direction. i have even posted here the full paths shown on the theme settings, and everything i guess seems to be ok as far as paths goes.
i wonder if i am the only one experiencing this strange stuff with this theme.

Am I missing something? I can't seem to figure out how to get all the buttons and icons to show up. The bubbles are great - no problem there (except that the spacer.gif is giving me a red X) - and the colors are fine, but with the default theme buttons showing up, it's a little... well, ugly. I think this theme would work well with my site's colors - not a perfect match, but certainly complimentary - so if someone could suggest what I might be doing wrong, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

IMHO, making them theme settings you could set from the admin panel would be better. I should probably write up a tutorial on how to do this.
If I did, would you think it was worth the time to make it use them? Basically, it would mean using $settings['alternateAvatars'], etc. - really the only complicated part is the Settings template.

the upgrad went smooth! however, the 'show personal signatures' option doesn't work in my upgrade in the admin page, and when i select another language all i see is 'x' isntead of buttons.

Are you sure you're checking the right place? The option is in:
Admin->Current Theme Settings
and it should be the 2nd option from the bottom "Show user signatures".

It's quite possible, all you need is a fundamental understanding of HTML.
The place to modify it is in index.template.php, and you need to modify it in the template_main_above() function.

Hey. I have a few questions...
I haven't updated to the latest versiion of SMF 1.0(Or 1.0.2 or whatever the case may be), I've been busy, so the version of my forum is still SMF 1.0 Beta 5 Public, and also because I didn't want to update to the newest version until Chat Bubbles was updated for the newest version of SMF.
Now since Chat Bubbles have been updated, what should I do first? Download the new version of Chat Bubbles and install over the previous version of Chat Bubbles or make a new folder and then just install into that folder as a fresh copy?
Or should I first install the newest version of SMF 1.0.2 over SMF 1.0 Beta 5 Public and then after that, then install the newest version of Chat Bubbles?
But also, if I do install SMF 1.0.2 first, will this mess up my entire forum, like delete all the posts, boards, etc, since the Chat Bubbles I have installed isn't compatible with SMF 1.0.2?
What should I do?

I would do it this way:
Download the "upgrade" package from the downloads page.
Upload everything from that package on top of your current forum.
Download the latest version of the Chat Bubbles theme and upload that on top of your current version.
Finally, do the upgrade by running upgrade.php.
You won't lose any posts or anything this way.

You're using a version of SMF older than 1.0. You must upgrade before using newer themes.

I re installed and SMF today and uploaded and applied the Chat Bubbles theme no problem. I downloaded the file stated on the main post of this theme. Also have you changed any of the files in the SMF directory manually and does the default template work?

I think you edit the index.template.php file which can be accessed through Administration.
If you are wanting images you will have to upload those into the right directory.
If you have queries, many problems have been asked on the forum before so it may pay to run a search of this forum.

Ok I love this theme. This has to be the prettiest theme I have ever seen for any message board. Is there anyway the author could do a theme just as creative for Coppermine Photo Gallery. Not neccessarily the chat bubbles, but something to do with pictures. That would be soo awesome. Also, when can we expect this theme in other colors Mr. Author ? :)

Hi - this is an excellent theme! I'm needing help with getting the shout box installed with it. I've tried several times and each time I get reset to the default theme. I really don't want that to happen.

I've installed the theme on a 1.1 Beta3P test forum and it looks good. Nothing seems to be broken. Of course, I didn't checked everything but all seems working.
@spaceant, do you have a PSD for the buttons? I'd like to translate them in french.

take a look at your pm page and you will notice a difference. also in 1.1 there are alot of template changes. take a look at your error logs. ;)

How can I add options to show AIM, Yahoo, ICQ, etc?
I am sure its in the Display.Templates.php file. I'm just not sure where to place the info in that file. I want to show just below the avatar.

i would love to see this theme using the same colors as the default theme. reason being that, i am using mambo and i am using a theme that matches with the colors of default theme.

Yep - add it to the Display Templates, but you need to include it in the $posterdata variable.

Is there absolutely no way that the colours can be changed on this forum. Great template, but not so keen on the dark green!

I love the concept, the only thing is the functionality of it when it comes to long posts....
If I were to do it, I'd have it set from top to bottom, like most other themes. But I'd have the layout similar in flow to most themes, but instead of having each users info on the left, it would rotate. 1st post from the left in a chat bubble come , the next reply would be from the right... & so on...
But then, that why we love the chat bubble theme, its not like the others :D

Open index.template.php and look for // Show a random news item? (or you could pick one from news_lines...).
Then delete from if (!empty($settings['enable_news']) to </div></div></td></tr>. This will delete the keystats.
You don't want to delete all this because then your members will not see their information. You can always just create another place for your logo.

I've asked spaceant for help but I'll also ask anyone else. I edited my chatbubbles2 theme and messed it up. I removed the offending messup, ended up reuploading my one year old copy of the theme and it installed, but I can't get the administration panel to change from the default theme. I noticed this on all old themes I'd installed. So I decided to d/l a theme that said 1.07 compatible and it worked. So now I don't understand why I can't click on chatbubbles2, and save it as my theme.

Right you go into the page they told you...
Look for the code that is called <head> and right under it you put in this <center><img src="http://yourimagehost.gif"></center>
the code that is called http://www.yourimagehost.gif can be .jpg in the end after the image as well, there are other formats as well, but I mostly use with gif and jpg.
where to load the image up? well to me www.photobucket.com is a good one.. free and they give you the codes you need, for html and IMG and just the link to the image.

Great theme...I really love it. I use Tiny Portal and wonder if there is a way to get the theme to work with it?
Sorry if this was already asked. Is there a setting I'm missing where a PM button shows up under a user in this theme rather than having to go to the persons profile to PM from there? Or am I completly blind here?
For sometime, i've been trying to figure out where that was too. It seems the only way to send pm is by clicking the profile. I hope the author include this feature in the next version. And for those who wanted to see a working demo of this, you can see mine here (http://www.theboardwalker.com/smf/index.php). It's actually integrated with MKPortal.
Now that the final version is out, i hope spaceant finally release the compatible version. I'm still waiting for the final version to make my site active but without my favorite skin, i got to wait still..... :'(

I did notice that when I enable the option that tells you when people are online or not that you can click that and it will take you to the PM option. I guess like you I would like to have an actual PM bubble or something to make it clear to users.
I have been playing around with this theme in a test forum and changed the colors and all that.

wow, that was a nice play with colors! actually, i thought about modifying the color of the entire theme including graphics but i want to make sure that it's intended for the current SMF version so i'm kinda of waiting for it too so i don't have to make css changes again when the final version comes.

Thanx! It matches the colors of the website. I'm hoping this theme gets updated soon. I would like to launch a working forum with this theme after the new year sometime.
by the way this theme was updated for RC 3 and Tiny Portal by one of the team members there
however it wasnt officially released - I dont know why.
Ill check with Crip who did the conversion and if possible ill do a conversion for 1.1 and post it
Thanks for the info. I pmed Crip but he seems to have lost the entire theme when he changed webhosting so may need to recode again from the ground up. I hope somebody takes time to update this. I would be willing to give donations if needed be.

Crip gave up on this theme, he couldnt get the key elements put in properly
So I guess its one of those 'lost themes' now unless the author himself updates it
I loved this theme and would be willing to pay to have this updated to the latest SMF version.
