I am trying to enable compressed output and for some reason it doesn't work.
The funny thing is that (by the way I have a dedicated) I have SMF installed on three websites (all the same server) and two of them work fine but on my main (and most important) domain when I "Enable compressed output" I simply get a blank page. I then have to open smf_settings in mySQL and disable the option... which then brings the forum back to normal functionality.
Does anyone have an idea what may cause this... [unknown] do you maybe know what's up?
I do have zlib and zlib-devel installed and apache built with zlib enabled. gzip works great in SMF back-up and works great everywhere else I use it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest that repair_settings.php might be more user-friendly... What is repair_settings.php? (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=18096.0)

Same server, eh? Are you setting any PHP settings locally? Are you certain all three forums are exactly the same version? Can you post a phpinfo? What is phpinfo.php? (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=18250.0)

All of the forums are SMF 1.0.1
phpinfo() >>>> http://testmy.net/php_i.php
And I don't even think I know how to set local php.ini ~~ I thought it was all global settings.
thanks [unknown]
There have been changes made in SMF 1.0.2 which hopefully may address this problem. Any luck?

Not, I upgraded and still having problems. I figured it out though
in index.template.php I use virtual(); to include my header and footer
For some reason this makes the page output blank when compressed output is set to 1 (I then have to go into mySQL and change it to 0), is there another method I can use to include my header and footer? I know require(); won't work... for some reason I am drawing a blank here......
Thanks [unknown]

Have you tried include() ?
