Title: Administrating users....
Post by: ranttrmike on October 09, 2008, 05:37:20 PM
I am on beta 4, and I have a dumb question.

I want to have more than just ME granting users access.

I have been through all the menu's, and it's either not there OR I am blind...

How do I give others the ability to get "new user" emails, and grant/deny access?

anyone listed int he admin group should get emails on new users.

admin > registration > settings > Notify administrators when a new member joins

and, of course, anyone in the admin group can also approve/edit users accounts.

I didn't want to hand out ADMIN priviledges to anyone, as they can alter the database information.  Is there a way around this (since you can't edit ADMIN)??

Thanks!

ah....  I don't think the notifications can be done without code changes

but the permissions allow you to grant permission to edit user accounts to any group you want...

Member administration A X D
  Moderate forum members
  Manage and assign membergroups
  Manage permissions
  Manage ban list
Send a forum email to members
  Issue warnings to members
