I can not find the

Is there some option i need to set somewhere ?

Are you using any themes or mods? Those may be the problem.

You won't see that unless you are logged out and looking at your index page as a guest.

Default theme, and no mods that should change that area of the forums, yet i can not see the link, even on a different computer with all cookies/cache files cleared.

Will have a look through an old template and have to add it manually i suppose.

It appears that this is something that was removed with 2.0.  Someone more familiar with 2.0 will come along and can hopefully tell you for sure.

where did you add what code to show the link?

Add $txt['welcome_guest_activate'] to your index.template file, where you want the message to be displayed.
