Title: Members deleting account - admin notification????
Post by: SpectroPro on October 13, 2008, 09:47:50 PM
I have it set so that members deleting their account require our approval.. the reason is so that we can decide to delete all their posts, posts & topics, or just leave them..

BUT, we get no notice of their intention... Thus, several have gotten pissed that they can't delete their own accounts, and that we have not done it for them.

Where does this notification go?

Maybe it should send as pvt message to the ADMINS on the board.

Anyways, I really need an answer to this so I can decide if I have to change that preference.

Thanks,

- Greg

do you have the totalMembers bugfix? (Not sure if that would help.)

Never heard of it... and no it isn't installed..

odd, we created an account, and deleted it... from in that account.  with the admin approval ON, it still shows that account name in the 'online today' area.   But, you can't find the account listed under members.. and it isn't telling us we need to delete an account..

Then, I created an account, and deleted it from in the account but, with admin approval turned off.. and the account is gone, and the name NO LONGER shows up in the online today list....

something is screwed up then, with the option turned on...  this sucks!!!!!

First use SMF site search and look for totalMembers then find the fix that I posted. It's a bugfix package that is exactly the same as a mod package except that instead of adding a feature it just fixes something.

Let me know if you can't find it. I'll locate it for you if you can't find it yourself. It is closely involved in the area you are asking questions about and might be related.

Also, after installing the bugfix, clear your errors then repeat your test and see if there are any error log notifications.

But again, if anyone knows...what is supposed to happen?  I don't even know what to look for cause that is one option (to make admin approve) that doesn't have a help for it..

Am I supposed to get email?   pvt message?  special notice in the moderate area??   what is supposed to happen if you have that box checked.???

I can run a few tests tomorrow and maybe tell you. I've been online for 18 hours now. If you need an answer sooner please dial 9-1-1. :) ;)

That fixed the problem!  :)

nice simple little ooops!!!  in coding...

Thanks for the info!!

And now I see where it shows up..  I still think it should pvt message the admin.  It's not like I check that area of the admin section ever....  Guess maybe now I will have to look in there every day.. ugh!

Well if you're happy then I guess there is no need to call 9-1-1. :)

Another happy customer. Go forth and multiply your SMF forum. :)
