Overview:

This mod allows you to choose the specific boards that you want users to be able to ignore. This means that you can stop users from ignoring your really important boards, like news boards.

The settings for this mod are located in the admin panel under 'Forum' -> 'Boards' -> 'Settings'. The 'Allow boards to be ignored' setting must be enabled if you want users to be able to ignore boards. You can apply the same ignore board options to multiple boards by clicking on the "Apply a profile to many boards at once" link in that settings area. The ignore board options for each separate board are configuerable by using the 'Allow users to ignore this board?' setting,  in the admin panel under 'Forum' -> 'Boards' -> 'Modify Boards' -> click the 'modify' link next to the relevant board.

SMF Version Support
This mod is officially supported for SMF 2.0 final and above only. Below is a list of available versions of this mod and the previous versions of SMF that they supported. Use them at your own risk. The mod author will not be supporting or upgrading this mod in any way for versions of SMF below 2.0 final.

Version 1.1: SMF 2 RC1-1.
Version 1.2: SMF 2 RC4 and above.

This is exactly what I need! But I want to only use it for admins. Can the admins still use this feature even if it's not enabled? I don't want to offer this to all forum users.

At the moment this mod isn't customizable by membergroup, that is a feature which I am considering adding to this mod. ;)

That would be awesome. :D In the meantime, I think I'll be adding it to my forum. Getting so many new posts and topics can be a drag, especially coming from boards I just "mark as read" all the time.

i'm sure that i'm overlooking the obvious, but where do the members opt to ignore a board?

Under 'Profile' -> 'Modify Profile' -> 'Ignore Boards Option'. You see it on this community forum.

Remember this mod only works for SMF 2 and you must have the 'Allow boards to be ignored' setting on, its located in the admin pannel under 'Forum' -> 'Boards' -> 'Settings'.

i set the allow boards to be ignored option as soon as i installed it... but it's still not appearing in the profile area.

the mod work in SMF 1.1.8?

No, it doesn't. This mod is specifically designed for SMF2.

Should this mod work with 2.0 RC1?

I am getting this error when trying to view profile:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare can_user_ignore_boards() (previously declared in /home/content/m/a/c/sitename/html/sitename/Sources/Profile.php:746) in /home/content/m/a/c/sitename/html/sitename/Sources/Profile.php on line 807

Though I did also move to another server at the same time so that could be part of the issue.

Which version of SMF are you running? (ie SMF 2 Beta 4 or SMF 2 RC1)

It might, I haven't tested this mod for SMF 2 RC1. That error that you are getting implies that some parts of the mod have been installed twice. Open your 'Sources/Profile.php' in a code/text editor and remove the extra 'can_user_ignore_boards' function code. You may need to manually remove any other deplicate code (use the 'Manual Install Instructions for SMF ' function on the mod download page to get a list of edits that have been made to your files).

i was running 2b4. i have installed (in a different directory) the RC1 but have not installed the mod on it yet.

neither board has been opened to the public yet... all the members are still on a board hosted at another domain. i'm trying to get this one all set up before i move them to the new one.

The first major update for this mod, it has been a while. ;)

The main addition for this version is the feature discussed by Draconis1609. It has justified almost a full rewrite. It was fun though. :D
