Otsikko: Changing the order of Child Boards
Kirjoitti: draker - helmikuu 03, 2005, 11:49:18 IP
I know it is possible to reorder the main boards, but is it possible to reorder the child boards?  Over time I have created, destroyed, and then added to the various boards I offer.  And now, some of them would work better if they got moved down to the bottom, or others to the top, of the listing of boards.

Of course... just reorder them normally.  It will try to keep them as children.  Remember, being a child board is just an aesthetic (for looks) thing, they're ordered exactly the same way.

Either I did it wrong, but when I tried to reorder them, it kicked up to the main level (i.e. it didn't keep it a child board).  I couldn't get it to stay in the "child section."

Well, for example, if you have these boards:

Parent
   Child 2
   Child 1
   Child 4
   Child 3

Obviously they are out of order.  So, take "Child 2" and make its order "after Child 1".  Then, you'll have this:

Parent
   Child 1
   Child 2
   Child 4
   Child 3

Now it's much closer!  Next, take Child 3, and put it after Child 2.  Done!

Note, if you're trying to do this:

   Child 1
Parent
   Child 2

That makes no sense.  The only logical place for a child is with its parent.  If you want it elsewhere, you want to change its parent - no?
