I recently moved one of my boards, running SMF 1.0.1 to a new server. When I first moved it, everything appeared normally, including the attachments. Now I am wondering if I have the actual directory of the attachments wrong.
I can attach pictures, but when I view the post they are not there. I don't get an error, so they are going somewhere after I upload them, but I checked via FTP in the attachments folder and the files aren't on the list.
I guess my question is, how do I go about finding out the location of the attachments directory? I had originally put "/home/virtual/site11/fst/var/www/html/forum/attachments" but this doesn't seem to be working. Is there an easy way to find out what the right path is? I guess when you install the board it fills in the blanks by itself, but because I moved it, I'll have to change it manually.
Ryan
did you change the urls for you theme?
Admin -> Current Theme's Settings
I don't recall changing anything in the Themes section, but the theme is working fine. It's just the attachments that are showing as red X's.

Admin -> Edit Features and Options -> Attachments -> change the urls and paths, also should do it for avatars also :)
That's my question... I know what the URL is, but on the new server the path is different and I'm not sure what to put for it. Is there any way to find out what the path is for the site on the new server as opposed to the old one?
Ryan
Well, scratch that. I made sure the URLs and paths were right, but I still get a red X. When I first moved the two SMF 1.0.1 boards, I made sure the attachments worked (viewing them and uploading them) before opening the sites again, so I know they were working. But now they both seem to have stopped. I've made sure the attachments directories were chmod'd to 777, I've triple-checked the paths and URLs, nothing seems to be working.
I also have a vBulletin board running on my server, as well as an old YaBB SE board, and their attachments both work fine. But for some reason the two SMF boards have quit displaying them. It will let you upload them without an error message, but when you go back to your message, there's a red X, and the picture doesn't show up in the attachments directory after you upload it -- I checked via FTP.
Would anyone care to take a look for me and see if I'm overlooking something? PM me.
Ryan
Can you pm me with a link and administrator username/password?

I found the problem. Thanks everyone.

Sorry, I tried to look at it, but for some reason the server wouldn't respond. It works for me, now, though... strange.
Anyway, I suggest you upgrade the one forum you sent me a link to... it's still using an older version.
