I was just sending emails to a couple of my members and tested by sending one to myself. I see the email is just sent as is but I think it should include a message to indicate that the email was sent via the forum along with the forums url and something about how the emails contents have nothing to do with the forums staff. This would also help to narrow down when someone is abusing the system.
We have a board where you can put forward feature request.
Feature Request (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?board=3.0)
Why is there need to include a message stating that it has nothing to do with the forum staff?
I just tested the E-mail function and nothing appears to be wrong with it.
Please, correct me if I've missed something.

Because at the end of the day the email originated from your server and therefore you can be held responsible for it. Also it would make it easier to track people abusing the forum if the recipient knew who to report it to.

Makes sense ;)
I'll bookmark this and take a look later, I'll prepare some code change to include something at the footer when an E-mail is being sent out for you :) I'll also notify our developers and see if they could implement this change, however, you could also post at the board linked above.
