Title: Premature end of script headers: index.php
Post by: DrP3cker on November 30, 2008, 06:04:56 AM
I just cant figure this out - I did a search of the forum but couldnt find anything that helped the situation.

For the past week or two my forums have been displaying the following when I try to connect to it.  Its strange because the site works for everyone else except me.  What the ?!?!  Ive tried IE and Firefox - both give me the error on the forums.

Internal Server Error
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

It only happens for the SMF forums too.  If I go to other parts of the site its fine.

The error log shows this (Ive removed my ip from the text):

[Sun Nov 30 03:03:14 2008] [error] [client x.x.x.x] Premature end of script headers: index.php
[Sun Nov 30 03:03:14 2008] [error] [client x.x.x.x] File does not exist: /home/teamcovex/teamcovex.com/internal_error.html

Can anyone help me please?

Edit: One thing I forgot to mention.  I havent made any changes to the website for months other than using the automatic upgrade/update package in the forums to make sure my SMF install is up-to-date.  I cant see how thats a problem because my other forums (same webhoster different domain) is working fine and I did the same auto upgrade to it.

Is this related to the recent upgrade for the forums?  Is anyone else getting this issue?

I can do a fresh install of the forums and it works fine.  Import my old data and it stuffs up again - but only for me - everyone else can still see it.

We've upgraded to 1.1.7 and also tried the latest beta.  Nothing seems to fix it.

We're talking about my problem in another thread so quote it into here! Haha.

I looked at it briefly too but you went to the beta and I haven't worked with the beta yet.

I can install any version of it and import the data.  Problem occurs in 1.1.7 and the beta.

Should I be asking this question in this section of the forums?

Are you the only administrator on your site?  If not, are any of the others having a problem?  Can you view the site as a guest?  Try clearing all of your cookies and cache and try viewing your site.

Im the only administrator having trouble with the site.  The other admin can see it.

Ive cleared all my cookies, history, temp files, etc and still get the error. Bugger. :(

Ive tried all versions of web browser and they all give me the error.  The only thing I havent tried is resetting my modem/router.  Ill do that now.

Damnit, I hate when people report the exact problem you have, fix it and not explain how! How did you fix it?

My guess would be resetting his modem and router... not sure how that fixed it though

Sorry DistantJ - havent checked these forums for ages and your PM went to an old email account of mine I never check.

I reset the modem and that fixed my problem.  No idea how or why - but it did. :)
