Nice Idea!
Screenshot ???
ScreenShots of setting areas and a visible StatCounter button, showing where it would show up at, are added to the first post.

Thanks :)
You just reminded me that I have an account with statcounter lol
Nice mod mate :)
ROFL!!!!!
Thank You. :)
Geat idea - I went from SMF forums to Google to seek answers and Google found what i needed here... !!! (Statcounter for forum) :)
All I need to do is get it to work.
1. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/index.template.php Test failed
2. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/languages/Modifications.english.php Test successful
3. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/languages/Modifications.english-utf8.php Test successful
4. Execute Modification ./Sources/ModSettings.php Test successful
I am using the DILBER theme... does that matter?
I've attached the index.template.php file from the "default" folder.
Thanks for any help/instructions.
On the index.template.php edit, you can actually place that just about anywhere you want the statcounter to show up at.
Just be sure to back up the file first, and make sure that you edit it correctly for the place you want it at. :)
tnks for that
Easy to set up.
I've installed the mod and added the code to my custom theme index.template.php. But on statcounter, it's only counting the homepage stats. How can I get it to show stats for all the forum pages?
SMF 1.1.9
Thanks.
I have two statcounter boxes showing up at the bottom of my forum, shouldn't there be only one?
Yes, there should only be one.
You have duplicate code in your index.template.php, just remove it and also check your Modifications.english.php and ModSettings.php.
Can anybody point me in the right direction with editing the index.template.php. I am trying to insert this into SMF2 RC2
but I get a parse error whenever I upload the file to the server, my template is attached.
anybody???
i tried installing to a test RC2 area, but the installation tests failed so I didnt complete it. Would love to see this upgraded for RC2 :)
Finally got it working on RC2 ..... Just stick the code for index.template.php anywhere before the </body> tag
I hope this mod is still being supported. I'm using SMF ver 1.1.11 with default theme.
Have installed this mod and it seems to work fine ... but ...
Just now I checked my forum and Forum Stats said there were 42 guests online. I logged into StatCounter and it is telling me that no one has visited my forum (there have been no page loads) in the last 5 hours. ?? ?? ??
Is this a problem with the mod or with StatCounter? How can there be 42 people on the forum but StatCounter doesn't log them? Or is SMF messed up somehow?
Thanks.
Bump. Anyone have any ideas?

Have you inserted the statcounter code into the forum ???

Have you inserted the statcounter code into the forum ???
Yes. Since SMF is contained in a folder called "Forum" inside the website for our organization I used the StatCounter code for the website. The StatCounter counter shows at the bottom of every page of the forum - even the admin areas.
When logged into StatCounter each page load is shown whether it is for a page on the website or a page on the forum. Still --------- StatCounter will show NO page loads for several (3-4-5) hours (on either the website OR the forum) but when you go directly to the forum the stats will often show 30-40-50 guests online.
(Thanks for responding)
You don`t need to post it everywhere, there is a section in admin to post the code, I`m using SMF 2.0 RC2 and its in Admin/Configuration / Modification Settings/ just insert the code once in there. I have had no problems whatsoever with it
I didn't post it/insert it everywhere. I put it in the box that the mod creates in the admin area. That is the only place I put it. The counter shows on every forum page and I assume that that is one function of the mod.
I have a problem -
I've had a statcounter account for ages on my main website and I thought I'd open a seperate account in order to monitor my SMF forum.
My SMF version is 1.1.12 and using Blackbox theme.
On going to Configuration>> Features and Options>> Enter Statcounter html code, when I hit 'Save', my browser just hangs and will not reload.
Using IE7
Right, I got around the IE7 thing by dumping it and using Opera.
But theres a problem and I think its at Statcounter's end, but they arent replying - when you try to create your 'default installation code' on the account wizard, you cant get it. Check in the code itself and you'll find you created it for tumblr, websitetonight, drupal, or any of a whole manner of things, but no default installation code at all.
Does this work for 2.0?
I very much doubt it.
The mod hasn't been updated for a long time and the er post before yours was January this year.
I have it running on SMF2.0
I just installed this mod, will see what happens.
Mod has been tested and re-done with 2.0.x in mind.
It is same version since no real changes had to be made, but name change for the BK Modding Team.

Just wanted to add, that I got this to work AFTER I choose the default installation with Standard XHTML Worked for me after trying every other installation, so I thought I'd share
