Post by: peterish on December 19, 2008, 03:35:10 AM
All of my 3 forums are not working any more after I upgraded them to 1.17. The information is giving as below when I visited the forums. I have no idea what I should do with it. Thank you for help.

Upgrading the forum...
Don't worry, we will be back shortly with an updated forum. It will only be a minute ;).

Open Settings.php and change $maintenance = 2; to $maintenance = 0;

That should do it.

Didn't work for me, when I go to my mydomain/forum that message still comes up.  I rolled it back and still when I go to mydomain/forum the message is still there.  I have to go to my domain/forum/index.php

How do I get rid of that page?

that is not the way to change the setting.php what metallica48423 has told to do

For this

Go to your hosting page>>
If using cPanel
Click on File Manager or Legacy File Manager
New page will popups
click on public_html icon
Find where is your smf file
In case of stevenbam smf file is inside the folder name forum
there you will see setting.php
edit it
$maintenance = 2; to $maintenance = 0;
