Hi,
Has anyone yet used this login feature and also to show the last posting and login form outside the forum ?
It would be good to see on an overall basis on a site who many guests and logged in users are there.
Please let me know :)
Sincerely
/Roxpace
Are you refering to ssi? If so a working version of how this can look if applyed right can be seen http://graphicaddicts.net/forums/index.php < there.
What I could see on that example it's not what I was wanna have at all. That site was only one big forum and nothing else, I wanna mixup normal articles and pages with no "tinyportal" or any other simple portal style, but on all my "webpages" I wanna also show the login form with how many guests there is on the web and maybe present the last written posts.
But the forum itself should have it's own directory.
what demon was trying to tell you was you can try using ssi. smf comes with nice ssi features, you can find some examples inside the smf root directory. take a look at ssi.php and ssi_examples.php i believe that's what it's called. they're all inside the root folder.
so what you're asking can all be done with SSI.

Thanks, I found it... Not exactly what I wanted but very close, it atleast gives some things.
But it would be nice if I am using the SSI login form the user should get redirected back to the origin page since the user has only requested to login and never chosen to enter any forum page.

You can do that too, and there are also other tools available. I suggest you search on this subject - there's no way I could give it justice in a single post.
