Otsikko: I'm Going to lose it
Kirjoitti: rakuli - helmikuu 20, 2005, 01:34:18 AP
Hi,
I am a relatively new to building sites and so far know only the basics of the various languages involved, PHP, JS etc.. My problem is that I found YABBse on Hotscripts.com because I was looking for a forum script to put on my site. I installed it and then painstakingly (with my limited knowledge) customised it and got the style and operation just right. I then noticed that YABBse has been discontinued and was advised through the live from YABB and also on the YABB website to upgrade to SMF.
I did just that only find that my style is gone back to the deafult and no way to use the style I had worked so hard to get right on YABBse. Basically I am asking if there is any way to easily use the template for YABBse in SMF as SMF is by far more feature packed and would fit what I am looking for exactly.
Obviously this probably won't be easy as the template system is a lot more detailed and incorporates a lot of PHP which at this time i am not entirely comfortable with.
Thanks for any help.

Converting your template is an option at the upgrade stage, but I think there's also a standalone converter here somewhere.

Rerun upgrade.php and if your template file exists it will offer you the chance to convert it.

Feel free to try also the YSE template convertor:

Thanks for that. It did the trick. I has to clean up some of the code I had in there (a few misplaced curly brackets [where do they come from? ::) ) but it carried the template accross nicely.
