Otsikko: Is this a hacking attempt?
Kirjoitti: hefesto - tammikuu 04, 2009, 06:51:17 AP
I've noticed that from a few days ago there's an error that appears frequently at my error log. From different IPs some pepole is trying to access:

/smf/.+$scripturl+.+'

Is this a hacking attempt? Should I ban these IPs?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think that is a hacking attempt.

$scripturl is http://yoursite/smf/index.php?

hefesto, do you still have this problem? Can you give us the entire error that you have in the forum error log?

It doesen't appear at SMF's error log, but at cPanel's error log. From some urls people try to access my root folder or my smf's root folder with that code. The only error returned is "file does not exist"...

Probably nothing to worry about. Might be a search engine bot crawling the folder.
