So, I was just testing out the notifications.
When only one user is subscribed to a post, posting replies is fast.
But when I added 4 more users to be notified, it takes considerably longer.
After hitting 'Post' button, browser status says ' waiting for <server>...' and just hangs for about 5~7 seconds before the posting is completed.
Then I removed the notifications and the posting is instantaneous.
Server emailing is what seems to be causing it to bog. Is this normal for SMF or could it be my server?
anyone noticed this?

I haven't noticed this myself and have been using SMF 2.0 beta for a while now. You might want to check with your host first about this to confirm.
Do you have any mods installed? Also, are you using PHP mail to send the emails or SMTP?
