Title: database connection error
Post by: Darkness_ on January 19, 2009, 06:58:14 PM
from the beginning that I've updated my forum to smf 2 beta 4 (11th january) I get the error that he cant connect to the forum.

when you resfresh it's all good but it is quiet annoying, and the users are complaining to.

tried the repair_settings but it didn't work for me

I see your site running. Might be that your host's mysql server shall be restarted for some minutes.

it's on daily basis, before the update I was using smf 1.1.5.
The error never occured then. this is from the beginning of my use of smf 2 beta 4
every day and very often.....

SMF gets the error info from php. I'm not aware of anything in SMF that could have caused this.

Most likely your server is having issues, or perhaps your site is getting busy and so your MySQL account is going over the maximum allowed connections

if I say that my site is using more bandwith since my upgrade to smf 2
with less users online and less messages on daily basis.
could that be right to.
Because that's the reasen why I'm asking for.

Normally when the forum can;t connect to the database I recieve a mail to, but when this one happens I don't

Darkness_, is this issue resolved now?

I also tried viewing your forum and have no problems with it. Does it matter what browser you are using when this happens? Can you give us the exact error you receive (if you are still getting them now)?

Upgraded from shared webhosting to a reseller solved the problem
