When I click on updated topics I get this error message

and when I click on unread I get this message:

I uploaded repair_settings.php but when I try to open it in the browser I get another error message

The requested URL /smf/repair_settings.php was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

you need to repair that database table via phpmyadmin.

I just checked my website and it's working again.
How can that of happened. I didn't do anything.

Go into phpMyAdmin (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=21919.0) and click on your database. Then look for smf_log_topics and check the box next to it. Scroll all the way down and on the drop them box, choose repair table.
Thanks. It happened again today. I followed your instructions and sorted it out.
If this is happening constantly, I would check with your host to find out what's happening. It's something going wrong on their end.
