Title: A question about transition
Post by: Minare on January 22, 2009, 04:32:20 PM
Hi

I have got ARTICLES MOD installed and there are thousands of articles and there will be much more, my site team are still adding. My question is; Will I lose those articles after I update my smf from 1.1 to the last version 2.0 ?  :(

You would be best off asking whoever made the mod in their support thread.
If I had to guess I'd say the articles have their own database table and will not be affected by the SMF installer.
Don't quote me on that though. ;D

They will most likely not be erased if that's what you are worried about most. But you will still need to port them over to SMF 2.0 if you plan to upgrade it. The mod will need to be updated to make this a almost seamless migration. Otherwise, it will stay in the database but won't be displayed in SMF 2.0 unless you mod it somehow.
