Is this an error while installing using the install script provided? If so make sure your database user has full rights to the database you are using.
Is this issue resolved now? It sounds like it is installed. Are you sure it's the Dev Edition and not the beta 4 Public which you can get here (http://download.simplemachines.org/)?
