Otsikko: An unpleasant surprise
Kirjoitti: hutch-- - helmikuu 24, 2005, 03:41:28 AP
Logged on a few hours after I had last been on and I get this error message.

Can't create/write to file '/var/tmp/#sql_e972_0.MYI' (Errcode: 13)
File: /www/m/masmforum/htdocs/simple/Sources/Load.php
Line: 996

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum files are currently at version SMF 1.0, whereas your database is at version SMF 1.0 RC2. It is recommended that you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

Now I have changed NOTHING since the version 1.0 install as I was waiting to make sure the later release was stable. Anyone have any clues about what is going on here ?

Hutch,

keep an eye on this thread (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=28826.0) = a similar problem on Powweb server

You should run upgrade.php; I believe there *were* changes to the database between RC2 and 1.0, although I might be wrong.

You should also upgrade to 1.0.2.

It was a POWWEB problem and its up and running again. Very strange error message though. I wonder if someone has the sense to NOT show the complete server path to anyone who clocks onto the forum when an error shows.

To be fair, PHPB was worse, it used to give the usename of the account as well.

Umm, you do know it shows the detailed database error messages only to administrators, right?

And who cares about the complete server path?  If your security is based on people not knowing that (or if someone's knowledge thereof even makes the slightest difference) then you have a lot more to worry about.
