I'm using the Classic theme under 2.0b4, and it seems that whenever there is a new topic in a child board (but not the main board), it displays "New Topic" instead of on.gif.
Help.
Have you tried following the path of the image to make sure that it actually exists where SMF is looking for it?
Right click on the text and go to properties and see where the image is supposed to be and copy that into your browser and see if it loads.
