Just setup gmail on my sons site and tested it by sending a few tests to admin accounts before I sent out a mass newsletter. The problem is everytime I try the mass email (only 50 people) smf times out.

This is from the error log

Is this with sendmail or phpmail?
Are you sending TO gmail or FROM gmail? If you're sending FROM gmail, it is possible you've hit a mail limit

I think it's working now I ended up getting spammed a few hours later so it must have been at googles end
