Hey guys,
Trying to add some custom logos up at the top and the method within the Admin section doesn't seem to work with custom themes - what's the best way to add a logo? Right now I'm just creating my own then renaming it what the old logo was called but very often it will be clipped and I can't seem to resize it so that the whole thing is showing.
Thanks!
That's how you do them but you'll probably need to resize the logo div. Usually this is controlled in the style.css and you edit the height and width to suit yourself.
Well, I can't delete this but upon further searching I see that it seems to vary from theme to theme. Soooo because I can't delete this I'll just provide more information and an apology for posting such a generic question.
I'm using SMF 2.0 beta
The theme is OrangeLine by Crip
I navigated into the style.css and I found these settings:
#logo {
position: absolute;
float: left;
top: 20px;
left: 25px;
display: block;
width: 238px;
height: 68px;
cursor: pointer;
background: url(./images/orlogo.gif) no-repeat;
}
Which seems to me like it should change the size of the logo (orlogo.gif). Is this correct? Can I just modify this and the box that's holding the image will stretch?
Thanks!
EDIT: Whoops, a post! Thank you sir. Is that the logo div right there?
You've got it. You can alter the width to whatever you like (bearing in mind screen widths) but the height is problematic on some themes that use images in the header. If you want to make it much taller you may need to modify some of the images to suit. Usually this isn't difficult.
i increased the width on our sites banner, changing the width but keeping the height and then centered it...where my graphic was more picture than words i had to feather and blend the edges so it would blend into the pfxbg.jpg http://newfoundwebbers.com/newfiechat/index.php i found if i was to make a higher banner, i would need to change the size of the pfxbg.jpg image to compensate.
justanothertechy, is this issue resolved now? If so, you may mark this topic as solved.
