My site was running phpBB but was the target of numerous hacks so I switched to SMF. Got everything setup and the theme modded just the way I wanted. Users began to register and post then... :'(
I get
Warning: main(/home/raov/public_html/smf/Settings.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/raov/public_html/smf/index.php on line 44
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '/home/raov/public_html/smf/Settings.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/raov/public_html/smf/index.php on line 44
When I checked MySQL, all the tables were gone! I restored from a backup but I still can't connect.
any ideas?
Are you sure the database info is correct? What error message are you getting now?
This is the error message I'm getting now:
Warning: main(/home/raov/public_html/smf/Settings.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/raov/public_html/smf/index.php on line 44
Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '/home/raov/public_html/smf/Settings.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/raov/public_html/smf/index.php on line 44
Before I rolled back to a backup I was getting an Internal Server Error.
I can see my tables and all the data seems to be there... Ijust cant access it.
Make sure that Settings.php exists on your server and is in the right the right place. Also make sure that Settings.php has read permissions for all groups (chmod 644).
You can look directly into the db content with phpMyAdmin and see if your db is still there or really gone. Have you done this?
Well, the error messages basically say this:
Lainaus käyttäjältä: SMFHi! Someone deleted Settings.php. I need it to work. Bye.
You may have a backup, named something like "Settings_bak.php". If so, please copy this to "Settings.php".
-[Unknown]
thats the weird thing... my settings.php was there - I peplaced it with the .bak just in case it got messed up but still didn't work.
and yes the contents of the db were intact.
I eventually made a copy of my theme, resinstalled and connected to the existing db and and all is fine now. Not sure what ever happened though.
thanks for everyone's input! :)
I'm glad you got it working again. The only thing I find in this thread that looks a bit suspicious is that you refer to settings.php but it must be Settings.php (maybe you didn't capitalize it?)
